The School of the Art Institute of Chicago is pleased to share the 2017 Design Show, featuring graduate work from students in the departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Designed Objects, Design for Emerging Technologies, and Fashion, Body, and Garment.

The Design Show is the culminating presentation of these graduate-degree candidates, and provides the opportunity for new and ambitious work to be presented to the public. This year, 44 degree candidates have worked with their lead department faculty, and a curatorial team with Guest Curator, Shannon Stratton, and three Graduate Curatorial Assistants to envision the exhibition. This year’s Guest Curator, Shannon Stratton, is the William and Mildred Ladson Chief Curator at the Museum of Art and Design, New York. Shannon has worked in collaboration with Graduate Curatorial Assistants: Zoe Carlson (MA Art History, Theory and Criticism, 2017), Katie Cato (MA Art History, Theory and Criticism, 2018), Asha Veal Brisebois (MA Arts Administration and Policy, 2017).

The exhibition is overseen by the Department of Exhibitions and Exhibition Studies, with Steven Plaxco, Director of Exhibitions Operations, and Curt Miller, Exhibition Manager, in collaboration with Site Managers and student crew.
