“Blurred Existence”

Concept |

The starting point for my collection was The Danish Girl, a novel that tells the story of the first transgender woman in history. Although the novel is about the significance of the process it took for Lilli Elbe to become the first transgender woman, my collection focuses on the concept of finding yourself – the bravery it takes to accept oneself and to become who you truly are. Through the combination of time, incidents, and ever-changing emotions, we all strive to reach the finish line. I designed this collection to evoke a series of vulnerable yet conflicting emotions that signal our desire for belonging and to exist before the eyes of the world while feeling intimidated by the notion of rejection due to societal prejudices of what is considered “normal.” As such, my collection is unbounded by gender, as we are all on this journey, regardless of gender.
