I always felt that I needed more in order to be grounded, and at the least, equivalent to my surroundings. In my thoughts, I get wrapped up into thinking that I am somehow not enough- I needed to cope. I then began to dress myself with the idea of “I need more…MORE!” I feed this obsession of mine to take up space and catch your eye. My presence, is your present!

Claire Lyons is a fourth year fashion design student at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While she loves pattern making, designing, embellishing everything, and making people laugh here and there, her love for creating dance costumes began when she was 15 years old when she started her own dance costuming business. It is still deeply rooted within her creative practice of fashion design and is something she enjoys going back to. In the mean time, she finds excitement in working with experimental materials such as party ribbon and tinsel, to create her own textiles!
