Concept |
My project is inspired by a famous Kun Opera play called “Peony Pavilion”, which tells a story about a young girl died because of he lovesickness and revived for love. The story reveals the spirit of pursuing free will and individual emancipation. Such a strong power is just like the new life breaking out of the shell, which relates to my color story —- eggshell membrane. The pattern of the garment is developed from the original opera costume called “Pei”.
Bio |
Fei Lin is devoted to observing the relationship between garment and human. She works with daily mundane and dig out ignored details of normal things and common experience. She draws on her personal experience to modify the viewers’ perspectives in a questioning, surprised, humorous and hiding way.
She also focuses on “body” —- human body that brings a personal set of parameter to bear on the piece, the human consciousness that influences the piece and the whole outside environment. Interesting things happen when a person is inserted in the encounter between the viewer and the object among the quiet, delicate movements the person creates.
