My inspiration for my garment comes from the natural textures the starfish has. By manipulating the fabric and dye, I incorporated these enterprising characteristics into my garment. In my garment I have integrated the organic shapes of the starfish along with its unique anatomical structure. I would say my garment is the physical representation of what a starfish would look like on a human body.

Hayden Wentworth is currently a freshman at SAIC and will be entering the Fashion Department in the upcoming term. Her playfully colorful designs focus on distorting the body through fabric manipulation. Creating new textures with her fabric allows her to explore and push the limitations of fashion. Using the color, tactile, and composition of the fabric, she is able to express a myriad of conceptual ideas. She aims to produce bold and empowering garments that encompass her personality.
