Isabella mapped the memories of fear she had as a child. The most debilitating being her fear of the dark. As she got invited to sleepovers, over the years she grew a set of tools to attempt to obliterate the anxiety of knowing the lights would eventually go out.
As a young child with many purses, I came prepared. I would attempt to wrestle my fears by instigating chaos.
The room slows down and pajamas are put on. My efforts defeated I succumb and lay in bed. Twenty minutes later my mother rings the doorbell knowing I am wide awake. Easily my shenanigans are packed up into their respective bags and I am off. Off to my bedroom at home where I will fall asleep with the lights on and my bags strewn at the foot of my bed.
