“someday the sun will come out”
Concept |
Life works like the weather. The weather forecast may predict sunny weather, yet it might suddenly change into a rainy, cloudy day. You never know what the reality will be until tomorrow comes. Sometimes it can rain for an entire week – damp, wet, humid. Yet however long the rain comes down, it doesn’t matter. The sun will come out again. This collection represents a person who happened to meet a rainstorm and had no other choice, but to stand in the middle of the heavy rain. The wind is fluttering the fabric, the rain is making the garment wet and heavy. But no worries, there is always a handful of cheer ready to shine its light.
Bio |
Jung Eun was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. A 2017 Leora Comer Pogue scholarship recipient, she focuses her designs on movement, capturing the likeness of the human figure in action. She aims to embody human nature through garments, representing the symbolic, the weather and the human psyche. Jung Eun transforms fabric into its own entity, enabling the garment to become its own human anatomy. Most of her designs are based on the components of traditional suits – lapel jacket, stand collar – with the goal of the garment being wearable anywhere, under any conditions.
