My collection is a mapping of my journey to reclaim my body and mind through a fantastical dreamscape.This world is roaming with my wandering bodies,
wallowing in their lived truths.The landscape is reminiscent of an absurd and kitsch England where the realities of the world have no place and only memories may enter.

Katie Craymer was born in England and moved to America at the age of ten. She studies at the School of Art Institute of Chicago and utilizes the use of alter-ego personalities to portray her life experiences and harmonize the use of fashion with performance art. She has multiple characters who are each strong, powerful and confident that represent different sides of herself. Through dressing up as these powerful beings Katie is able to reflect on the past while looking forward into the future. The theatrical nature of the characters allows an escape from the mind and questions the fluidity of identity. While her work has a personal narrative Katie feels that an expression of owning one’s hardships can be a common concept that others can relate to. The greater narrative behind these alter-egos is self-love and conquering one’s demons.
