Isolation, often used as one of the most rigorous punishment methods amongst the most advanced species on the planet, is a very sought-after trait amongst a variety of life found in nature. It is sometimes a necessity to ensure the survival of species which is the most important rule of nature. Some organisms isolate themselves so as to avoid combat, some isolate themselves amongst the dead remains of other organisms and a few engage in sexual cannibalism, where the male offers itself as a source of nourishment for the “to-be bearer” of its genes.

For this project I am focusing on fractals, self-similar complex patterns across different scales, a naturally occurring phenomenon and a great example of body embodied within body, found in the living conditions, bodies and behavioral patterns of such organisms. Using these complex patterns, I have tried to create silhouettes and inform them with repetitive surface treatments to create designs fit for humans that represent the beautifully violent way that nature operates to create a balance in a 5-look collection which inspires one final top and skirt design.
