This sneaker is a manifestation of the artist’s sentiments for his partner. Like this decommissioned fire hose, the artist too is rough around the edges and imperfect, but when things get hot he will always be by his companion’s side, every step of the way. Her lifeline. Constructed entirely from a 64mm decommissioned fire hose for the upper and quality beige calfskin for the liner, featuring metallic silver accents to stay true to the hose aesthetic. The distressing seen in the material comes from the nylon threads woven on the inside of the hose, intentionally exposed to emphasize the wear and tear the hose has been through before gracing the sneaker. All built on top of a fresh Lunar Force Sky Hi wedge sole.

Swar Sahgal is an artist raised in the cultural melting pot that is Singapore. Being witness to the city’s tremendous growth and his experience as a firefighter allowed him to experience all aspects of the city. Swar uses these life experiences to inform and develop his concepts, which he channels through his shoemaking craft.
