My collection’s title is an uncertain sentence that arises when people question others and themselves. As modern life evolves, more and more people contend with over consumption and over-commercialization of information, goods, services and more. This reality of everyday life has wormed its way deep into psyche of many cultures and individuals. Nowadays we are more likely to judge others, and try to change their minds and actions with our own will. My collection is a protest against this strange phenomenon. Three- dimensional shapes represent electronic devices to create stereoscopic decoration that attaches onto clothes. These attachments are a metaphor for the judgement so prevalent today. Quilting and other fabric treatments serve as metaphors for excessive consumption. Sound-triggered lights combine with some hand stitching and waxing. Bright and dark colors dramatically shown with graffiti surface treatment express the conflict of people want to change others but never changing themselves. I experienced the process of designing this collection as self-healing.
