My interest in fashion is inspired by identity and narrative. As an artist, I primarily consider myself a storyteller. How we choose to mix and match clothes tells a story as much as envisioning a new fashion look. I often laugh at how many identities I keep stashed away in my closet. From overalls to blazers, I believe that clothes can have their own personality. If our clothes can say so much, perhaps they are not objects we use as we please, but characters we hold a relationship with. In this piece of creative writing, I imagine what happens when the wardrobe doors are closed. What do clothes think about when we’re not wearing them? Fashion is so connected to us because it adorns our bodies but it also has a life of its own. What fascinates me is how much we can relate to pieces of fabric.
