Hi! I’m Frida, I was born and raised in Chicago, and my parents are from Mexico City. I’m a fashion and fibers artist, I find it especially interesting to have both practices mix in order to create dynamic work. My garments are meant to protect and empower the wearer, giving them confidence and light that will guide them through this life. I’m constantly using my Mexican background as inspiration, I’ve done research on dance costumes and the origin of my family members in order to motivate me to be as loud and carefree as possible. Through my colorful garments and dynamic prints, I hope to create a sense of comfort and community.
