The Wentworth clan came over from England in 1605 to pursue a better life. They live off of the coast of Scotland on a tiny island called Lea island. The three Wentworth sisters Iris, Hazel, and Florence set sail on the North Sea looking for land to start a new life. All they had on their ship was three sheep and enough food for them to last the trip. After 10 days they came across a small island off the coast of Scotland that looked to be uninhabited by man. They came ashore and never left. The island provided them with food and shelter. They decided to name the island Lea Island after their ancestors. Lea Island welcomes everyone who comes to the island. For the past few centuries they have been unbothered by the outside world until the 20th century when the shores started to become overwhelmed with trash. Instead of being buried amongst the waste they collected items to expand their community by building homes and community spaces. By the late 20th century the waste started to shift. More and more unwanted clothes started to pile up against the shores of Lea Island. The Wentworth Clan again started to collect the waste and upcycled the clothes. Their traditional garments come from the natural materials on their island and the invasive ones. Using their creative minds they designed three looks that encompass who they are as a society.
