My current work explores the narrative that, “nothing is created nor destroyed”, and relating it to destruction. Oftentimes, when a subject displays visual evidence of decay we associate it’s state as destroyed; rather than see it as the phenomenon of transformation of material and energy. As everything we see and experience is evidently temporary, destruction and decay serve as a factor that continuously defines our reality. Now more than ever is our world exposes it’s destructive state, from the shattered concrete we walk on, rotting infrastructures, suffocating fires, the excessive buildup of waste, tainted air and water, and even our various destruction to our own kind; our world is shifting under our shadows. Drawing inspiration through the textures, actions, and change destruction emphasizes, my work aims to embody the features of deterioration.
