My process always follows this thought process:
What genre of item do I want to create? How do I make it? And how do I completely deviate from that?
I make it my own. Because as a multicultural individual who has moved more times than I can count on my hands, holding on to an identity that is uniquely you no matter where you are, is vital to survival. Originality and quirkiness are the cornerstones to my work and life.
Pay close attention to the similarity of all the pieces. There won’t be much similarity at all! Spontaneity is something we find rarely when shopping for accessories. This is especially true with my Alien POD purse. Utilizing a non-traditional material like silicone rubber for a product that has never used it before in a SHAPE that is (to say the least) strange is exactly what I want to integrate into my work. Theses pieces are statement pieces. They WILL draw attention and curious eyes. But in a world where everyone wants to be unique, isn’t that exactly what you want?
The Rook hat is the kickstarter of a series of hats, each being a completely unique material from the other. I want to create hats that make you think: If I could bring a chess piece to life and put them into a movie, what would they wear? How would their hat represent their personality? Photos of the rest of the series are as of yet private, but will be published soon. And as it follows my mantra of strange and unusual, each work is a complete story of its own.
Jewelry has been diminished to charm bracelets, stud earrings, and simple rings. The same format over and over again. I decided to change that. Jewelry can be more than just an accessory, it can be an art installation on the body. You are a work of art and you deserve to look like one with the jewelry you wear
