Julian (Jules) Gourley is a senior in the fashion design core program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, specializing in leather work, natural fabrics, shoemaking and experimental pattern drafting. Their journey spans from serving in the US Navy, gaining discipline and medical expertise, to pursuing a BFA in Studio with a focus on fashion design. They were selected as a Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) 2023 Scholar, receiving a scholarship award for their Junior year collection. Passionate about sustainable design, Jules envisions a career focused on ethical material sourcing, made-to-order processes, and creating garments that convey stories of transformation and self-actualization.
