Figure Model Classrooms

There are currently 3 classrooms dedicated to Figure Model courses.

Room 315, 280 Building
Features a closet wall with sliding barn doors secured by a padlock
Should contain 4 utility lights, 4 utility light stands, 4 extension cords, 4 light bulbs and 2 heaters

Room 320, 280 Building
Features storage cupboards under the model platform
Should contain 4 utility lights, 4 utility light stands, 4 extension cords, 4 light bulbs and 2 heaters

Room 124, 280 Building
Features a storage locker with equipment secured by a padlock
Should contain 4 utility lights, 4 utility light stands, 4 extension cords, 4 light bulbs and 2 heaters

 

Classroom Furniture

The following items are permanently located in the classroom and maintained in good working order by the IRFM Facilities Coordinator.  The Media Centers are responsible for replacing any of the heaters, extension cords, utility lights and light bulbs if a problem is reported. 

Privacy Folding Divider – provides privacy for the model when disrobing in class
Stool – provides model with support during seated poses
Figure Model Platform – a folding riser where the model centers themselves during sessions
Heaters – these portable heaters help keep the model warm
Extension Cords – extension cords are utilized with the heaters or utility lights
Utility Lights – these help to illuminate the model during sessions
Lightbulbs – these are LED bulbs for the utility lights

Furniture Accessories

These are general items available for use by the models to help with their comfort during posing and are located in the model changing room.  These items are purchased and maintained by the Figure Model Coordinator.

Cushions – these are pillows the Figure Model can use to help prop themselves in a variety of poses
Yoga Mats (thick) – provides the figure model with extra support during standing or reclining poses.
Yoga Mats (standard) – provides the figure model with extra support during standing or reclining poses.
LinensSAIC contracts Alsco Uniforms to supply clean linens for the figure models to utilize during their sessions.

Any issues with Classroom Furniture or Accessories utilized by Figure Models should be reported to saic-figuremodels@artic.edu

 

Additional Facilities

Room 303, 280 Building
This is the Prop Room.  It contains a variety of objects for faculty to utilize for still life sessions.

Room 322, 280 Building
This is the PTDW main office.

Room 201, 280 Building
This is the 280 Media Center. This office can supply replacement heaters and light bulbs.

 

Figure Model Changing Room

Room 121, 280 Building
This is a space reserved exclusively for the Figure Model employees.  There are hallway lockers available to store personal belongings, these lockers are assigned to individual models upon request by the Figure Model Coordinator.
