TRADITIONAL HOUSE COMPONENTS AS TOOLS FOR THE FUTURE OF NET ZERO

Becoming caretakers of your residence involves adapting to the most current standards of energy efficiency. How can someone’s place of home become more than a transition place, how can someone’s place of home become a representation of the future and represent stability?

I’ve always been extremely passionate about design and how to build a room and design it, but also about the longevity and sustainability of the actual parts and makings of the home. Buildings – including offices, homes, and stores use 40% of our energy and 70% of our electricity. Rather than producing new construction while existing construction stays the same problem, I propose that traditional homes can become tools and learning environments for the future of net zero.

By creating this deck of cards, homeowners become more aware of the components in their traditional home that can be implemented to create individual change to reduce our carbon consumption in the residential housing market, transitioning their existing home into a net zero home.
