Master of Architecture with an Emphasis in Interior Architecture

Some cities built centuries ago, have been provided with great inheritance. They have managed to preserve traditional architectural heritage. When I say heritage, I don’t necessarily mean concerning civilizations and settlements over 150 years ago but also the buildings, districts, cities that are culturally rich and now “landmarks”.
With constant evolution, both good and bad, I hold concern for the same.

Kindly allow me to introduce my attempt on how architecture and interiors can ameliorate the city’s inheritance while keeping in touch with contemporary urban evolution, more like consumerism.

Coming from a city and a state of great heritage, I take it as my responsibility to prevent my city from being “out of touch” with contemporary ways, while still corresponding with contextual development. What needs to be inherited? what is to be preserved? How to innovate and when is it time to let go?

An overarching agglomerated vision of human settlements across the globe (considering the ancient settlements, functionality, usability, and predominantly the necessity to sustain life) is itself a paradigm for any scholar to contemplate and construe its labyrinth fabric in a disciplined way, by keeping an artistic mindset, social, economic and cultural desires as a nanoscopic part of our robust ecosystem.

For the past 10,000 years, if we study the hegemony of humans and our beliefs, we have kept all our desires and our ostentatious needs before humanity and we keep ourselves as the epicenter of this concept of life and try to accommodate this exquisite ecology (land, air, water, sky, and fire) as our secondary support system. These presumed phenomena allowed us to cultivate our values, upbringings, cultural and social connections through methodology and approaches across the globe, to define our milieu and tangible precincts on this globe.

In an attempt to preserve, designers often reiterate conservative ways and in this attempt, lose cognizance of the cultural value of the landmark. what were to occur if we were to oblige versatile, adaptive reuse by carrying the traditionalist to contemporary. These practices have been utilized across as of now yet the mindfulness towards the equivalent might not have been brought into consideration.
