Thesis Project Description, 2021, Video

Bona Chun is a multidisciplinary artist who explores dimensions of human and non-human life with curiosity and empathy. Growing up in a big traditional family, she observed different phases in human life and felt that each phase should be celebrated and enjoyable. The ordinary components of life such as birth, aging, sickness, death, happiness, anger, love, and joy- are the key themes of her works. Her goal is to design intuitive and sustainable objects that help people lead better lives no matter what obstacles they encounter. Her recent works include Saving the Heartbeat, a device that records the parents’ heartbeat to playback in the incubators for premature-born-babies to help them feel more comfortable at the hospital, Conversation, Neighbourhood, and I Invite You to My Funeral.
