Colin Fleck is a contemporary visual artist. He was born in San Diego, California in 1989. From ages 3-18, Colin lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In 2012, Colin received his BA in Philosophy from Rhodes College, in Memphis, TN. In the Spring of 2013, he moved to Los Angeles, California to begin his life in the arts. In 2016, Colin received his BFA from Art Center College of Design with a degree in Illustration. In 2019, Colin began his MFA work at San Francisco Art Institute. Following SFAI’s collapse in 2020, Colin transferred to SAIC in Chicago where he is now intending on receiving his MFA on May 15th, 2021.

At the core of my practice exists narration. Stories live in every work I produce, even when they are not immediately obvious. As I create, I invite viewers to both see the world in new ways, and to experience new worlds.

I draw from philosophies, mythologies, and personal experiences, to develop my work. I use these sources to guide my general direction while simultaneously listening to and being informed by the artwork, allowing for spontaneity to live within the piece. My intention is to create narrative spaces that activate the imaginations of those who encounter them.
