Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Gross studied photography at Parsons The New School in Paris and holds a BFA in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Over the past ten years, while maintaining her studio practice, she has designed womenswear, jewelry and accessories for several major labels in New York City, including Maiyet, TSE, Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein. While Kate is officially a student in the Sculpture department, she considers herself an adopted member of the Photo department as well. She is set to graduate from the MFA program in May (2021) and is scheduled to move back to New York City where she plans to continue her work as a designer and artist.
