Brooke Lord is a drawer / publisher / printmaker / risograph artist currently based in Chicago, IL.

Other World is a comics and risograph publishing project started by Brooke Lord in 2023. Other World started as a self-published comic series about the underground industrial techno music scene and queer nightlife in Chicago; and illustrates a universe of ending, beginning, reality, fantasy, sentimentality, transcendence, and in part is a eulogy for important places in this community that no longer exist. Other World (comics) focuses on themes of alienation, self-discovery, and the liminal space of not-being-able-to-return and finding a way to move forward.

The future of Other World is in art book publishing and risograph printing, with the goal to publish work by artists / friends / peers following Brooke’s completion of their MFA.
