My practice involves the exploration and celebration of the idea of community through the use of performance and multimedia while drawing inspiration from and sharing my culture and heritage in the context of the contemporary world. Thus, my work puts into use various technologies, experimental methods, and sometimes collaborations with other artists. This always sets me in the direction of research – learning multimedia tools while reflecting on theoretical concepts – while drawing from Basotho folklore, totem culture, and African beliefs grounded in the ideals of “Ubuntu/Botho”. Ubuntu/Botho is an African concept referring to “humanity towards others,” placing great importance on community relationships, a practice that is transferable to the art world.
