Edward Sin
Edward Sin was born in Chicago and raised in Seattle. He received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2020, where he is also currently a MFA candidate in the Painting and Drawing department.
Sin explores using digital photomontages to create paintings that depict spaces drawing on personal feelings of disorientation, fatigue, and anxiety. These architectural images, which begin as separate places in the real world, come together to create abstract spaces that vary in size, shape, color, and texture. He is interested in how can our understanding of spaces can change as they lose specificity and context in location, and how that distance affects our own attitudes and sentiments towards being in such spaces.
