Elizabeth Joo

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Fiber and Material Studies

Elizabeth is a fiber-based artist who has studied emotions through documentation and expanded into works. Through emotional documentation, she identifies the relationship between emotions and reason, temporary phenomena of emotions, prolongableness (extensity), infinity, and ambivalence beyond emotional diversity. She works across embroidery, sculpture, and video/photo installation to create experiences of emotion.

Elizabeth Joo is an artist based in Chicago. She was born in New York, US, and raised in South Korea. She graduated from Seoul Women’s University (the Department of Ceramics & Fiber Arts) in 2020. She combined her activities as a designer and an artist.
