Erica Dincalci

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Fiber and Material Studies

Erica Dincalci is a fiber artist from California whose work investigates how fiber creation can express the lived experience. Through her work she explores notions of grief, addiction, memory, body, place, and time. Her early Waldorf education fostered her artistic side early on in life. She holds an AA from New York University and BFA from the California College of the Arts. After her undergrad she struggled to find her place. During that time the intimate act of creating art helped refocus her life.

She’s a current MFA Candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the Fiber and Material Studies department. She also works as a Studio Assistant and Teaching Assistant primarily focusing of weaving. Her work has been shown at CCA, SAIC, SRJC, ARC Gallery, Sebastopol Center for the Arts, and UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens.
