Maggie Redding

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects

Maggie Redding is a decorative arts inspired sculptor based in Chicago. Their work speaks to the generational inheritance of trauma and its manipulation of furniture, values, and gender roles. In their works, Maggie seeks to explore the humor in the absurdity of our collective attachment to the material world, and create a humorous dialogue through their juxtaposition of objects. It’s their hope that by presenting objects in unconventional configurations, they can spark conversations that challenge traditional notions of value and identity. Through their intricate sculptures, Maggie uncovers the humor in the absurd, and invites us to laugh until we open our hearts.
