Naichen Pan

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Painting and Drawing

Naichen Pan is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Chicago, IL, and China. Their work investigates the incompatibility between East Asian philosophy and contemporariness, where one’s belief has been shattered in the fragmented ideology of contemporary society. By personifying everyday objects which evaluate intimacy, domesticity, and discomfort, Naichen presets the confusion and constrained states of being as ‘Paradoxes of Zen.’

After graduating from the University of Toronto with a major in Economics, Naichen has held several visiting artist and artist residency positions; their work has been exhibited in Canada and China.
