Nikki Telegan
Nikki Telegan is an embodied multidisciplinary performance artist based in Chicago. Their work examines the psychoanalytical body through the lens of the abject, degradation, spectacle, and self-fetishization. Often employing the wet and messy as both form and material, their work considers the function of flesh and the extent to which the body-image can and does exist across space and across time.
Their work has been exhibited in spaces such as the LookOut Series at Steppenwolf Theater (Chicago, IL), the INVERSE Performance Art Festival at the Momentary (Bentonville, AR), and the In/Form Performance Art Festival at Links Hall (Chicago, IL), among others. They have received awards such as the Frank A. “Tony” Sprague Photography Award from Cuesta College, the Graduate Dean Professional Development Award, and the Peanut Butter & Jelly (PBJ) Leadership Award from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
