Paloma Pardo

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Ceramics

Paloma Pardo was born on a January 5th in Colombia. Her guilty pleasures are academy and short walks by the beach. Her biggest temptation is to replace ordinary artworks, where it is necessary to go from one part to the other, by the spectacle of a simultaneous piece, in which everything would be said at once without confusion, in a flash: total, peaceful, intimate and finally uniform. One could say that this is due to wanting something that impresses her to come out of her one day, and then live in that image of herself impressive. She has settled in close range to ceramics as she affirms being a ceramist is being an eternal sketcher, rather than an artist. She states that only drafts can be submitted to fire -embodied by a kiln- and that in return it births an artwork that didn’t exist beforehand.
