Wenxuan Guo – a Chinese film/stage play scriptwriter, director, and photographer. Currently studying at the School of Art Institute of Chicago, and will receive MFA degree in Film, Video, New Media, and Animation.
Wrote and directed several short drama pieces from 2018 – 2019. Won prizes in “New era, Dream in Heart and Psychology” and “The Sixth Beijing College Student” drama festivals.
Wrote and directed five short films from 2020 – 2023. Recent short films “A New Tenant” and “Counting Test” explore the psychology of specific characters who are against the big environment. Influenced by the outside world, characters face the situation of losing control. The environment in the short films aims to reflect the real social situation. From the quarantine brought by the pandemic to the current economic stagnation.
