Yu Chen


Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Visual Communication Design (Graphic Design)

Yu Chen is a visual artist, designer, and lecturer. His focus is on creating brands, providing art direction, and designing with 3D graphics. Yu has received numerous accolades for his work, including recognition as a TOP 100 DAC World’s Leading Designer and as a jury member of the Milan Design Week – China Design Exhibition. He is also a member of the China Fashion & Color Association – Color Education Professional Committee.

Yu has extensive experience working with a diverse range of clients, including large auto companies, celebrity actors, singers, artists, higher education institutions, government agencies, beverage brands, and entertainment companies. His innovative and thought-provoking art has earned him over 40 international design awards, including the prestigious NXT-GEN Pentawards, Type Directors Club Awards, Communication Arts Awards, Graphis Awards, and Gold Muse Creative Awards.

Moreover, Yu’s works have been showcased in over ten countries across the globe, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Italy, France, Germany, New Zealand, China, and the United Kingdom. In fact, in December 2022, his works were prominently featured in New York Time Square.

Currently, Yu is pursuing an MFA Degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Here, he continues to push the boundaries of graphic design and explores new and innovative approaches to his craft.
