Divyangi Shukla

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Painting and Drawing

Divyangi Shukla’s practice involves a reflection on her daily encounters or planned trips to people and invoking her emotional memories of them through drawing, painting, sculpting, and writing. She explores the intermediary space between an object and an image to bridge between her photographic pictures of children and families she visited and the experience of the event. She received a BFA in 2020 from Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam, Netherlands, and is currently pursuing an MFA Studio in Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL.

Divyangi is a three-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Award Grant in Fine Arts. Her works have been featured in galleries and museums internationally including South Asia Institute, Chicago; Cultivate Grand Rapids, the Curator’s Salon, UK; the HET HEM, EYE Film museum, Amsterdam, Dutch Film festival; L’Intolerant Groningen; CICA Museum, South Korea and Nommo gallery, Kampala, Uganda
