Bachelors of Fine Art

Linds is a young filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist. Born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania, she found inspiration in creating and exhibiting portrait paintings and illustrations. This passion brought her to Chicago, where she received her Bachelors in Fine Arts at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, with a focus on digital video production. Linds’ still work, paintings and illustrations and the occasional tattoo, revolves around femininity, the body, horrors, psychology, and philosophy. Her animations and short films evoke the timeless nature of folklore and mythology alongside these themes, culminating in a lexicon of contemporary fables that speak to the current human relationship to the world and the infinite histories it is built on.

I am an interdisciplinary artist experimenting with the relationships between personhood and memory, particularly in moments of intense transformation. My work focuses on the aspects of the psyche that are unreal, fantastical, and psychedelic to explore how human individual and invisible mental experiences can become something tangible. My body of work includes series, short films, and independent feature films. Bright colors and dramatic compositions intertwine to drive a sense of curiosity, hope, dread, and horror throughout each narrative.

I use a broad array of materials to create mostly 2-dimensional and 4-dimensional artwork. One of my favorite practices is to experiment with materials in ways I wouldn’t normally use them, and to explore new multimedia approaches. These challenges create the space for a more involved process where I can let my moments of conflict, hope, and confidence speak through my application. When there is room for exploration, there are always new ways to tell a story.

My video art and short films explore tension, transformation, horror, and existential experiences, often through a dramatic psychedelic lens. Their narratives navigate new feminism with an emphasis on the body, girlhood, and womanhood.
