Rodolfo Maximilano Gabriel Cupich III was born and raised in the East Mountains of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He received his BFA from the University of New Mexico with a concentration on printmaking.
He is interested in resistance to modes of living that are impressed upon us by our society such as labor and efficiency. Are stress and anxiety our personal responsibility, or a natural byproduct of capitalist society? What are alternative modes of resistance to authority and established systems of power? His work uses humor, absurdity, color, and materiality to explore power, class, identity, and ways of living within our society.
