I see humans in a universal way as an entity. There is the same catalog of human characters and qualities that we hold, underneath our differences of appearances and acquired experience. I am always interested in human instincts such as curiosity and empathy, and try to illuminate them in my work. Therefore, the audience is an essential part of my practice.
I am recently working on the participant installation as a synthetic medium, considering comprehensive ideas about the direction, interaction, space and aura. I would like to create scenes to engage people in and trigger their behaviors naturally, even subconsciously. Meanwhile the participants also become the observers in the process. Once the extras get in, the scene turns to be complete.
