Katherine Sophie Marra is a Chicago based artist who is originally from Long Island, NY. Before entering SAIC to pursue an MFA in Painting and Drawing, she studied Biology and Landscape Architecture at Cornell and Harvard Universities. Currently, her practice explores the metaphorical possibilities of placing stress on the bonds between materials, reading the texture of impressed images, and mapping the path of water through compressed spaces.
