Pessaries are objects of contraception, sterilization and medicinal or structural support for the internal architecture of the body. They are an industrial species, irrevocably tethered to their human-centered purpose. Mapping patent documents and ancient artefacts, a rich evolution of the pessary is revealed. Repressed, overlooked and by nature, physically concealed from view, accessing these forms and their functioning environment can only be achieved through a triangulation of their shadow selves; the artifact, the replica, the realia. Coalesced in sculptural form, Fuzzy Objects perform as re-scripting devices to the bodies, objects and histories to which they refer.
