The Design Show is a one-night public exhibition that features work by graduating BFA, MFA and Post-bacc designers from
The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
This is a great opportunity for the Greater Chicagoland area to see design work that is both practical and conceptual, with an interdisciplinary palette of mediums, including print, digital, 2D, 3D, and objects.
Stamp (stamp sheet – 19.5cm x 14.5cm, stamp single – 3.3cm x 2.6cm, stamp oversized – 23cm x 20cm) Project done in Switzerland at ZHdK during semester abroad, department competition for the national carrier Die Post for a stamp next year. The theme was "email vs. brief" which I interpreted as digital vs. analog and combined elements of both. A circuit board was created with a negative of the Swiss flag in the center around which information fell, the circuits themselves are not printed but instead debossed, rising above for a tactile feel. This design was shortlisted in the final round of judging but was not chosen as the winner of the competition, all identifying marks were removed and text was altered in this version from the original submission.
