Blackout '03 (20"x32") Digital, Inkjet. The Blackout of 2003, originating in Cleveland, was a power outage that covered much of the northeast United States and Canada over the course of three days. Condensing the vast amounts of data, organizing all the info, creating a visual language and tone, and constructing a narrative overall were the primary processes to creating this poster.
Charles Simic: Object Poems (24"x35" each) Digital, Inkjet. Simic’s Poems personified objects in grotesque and dark ways, bringing them to life with imagery and creativity. The same idea was applied to the organization and treatment of the type of his poetry in this large-scale poster series by creating movement and an overlay effect of each poem.
