The pandemic has led people through a ride of emotions that may seem unreal when reflecting back on it, just like after a party. So this piece, in specific, is not biased towards a celebratory or unsettling of emotions, but a calm and peaceful atmosphere to reflect back on what they have been through in the past two years.
This installation is both an emotional and physical portrayal of the emptiness and messiness in an after party setting. The negative space of the castings of the balloons in a box is showing the emptiness in one’s mind. The mirror encourages people to reflect back one something that seems surreal to them in this calm atmosphere created by the white sculpture in the dark.
