This work is part of an ongoing investigation of the emotional and spiritual tides that arise from grief, decay, and loss, and how they can be utilized in the radical act of visual celebration.
In Carry Me, a network of flora and fauna are placed within an arrangement of burial boxes. By utilizing an ambiguous method of illustrating the body language of the rabbits in this piece, they appear neither alive nor dead, and therefore we are afforded the surreal experience of witnessing the rabbit’s final moments in life, or perhaps the first few moments after death.
