My generation, people born and raised in China in the 1990s, is living under the influence of chaotically significant political movements, which we have never experienced. The transition of generations is filled with contradictory and intricate layers.
I have had a hectic and troubled upbringing, frustrated with conventional training, influenced by the absurdity of the cultural situation. My work hopes to express the rebellious activities of humanity, by redefining the notion of Fashion and removing the commercial seriousness from garments.
Made in China not only means the label on a product physically manufactured in China, but also is representing the new generation, which is educated parallel to the manufacturing industry in the developing country of China. I use personal narrative and story telling in my work, challenge the traditional authorities and reconstruct a new form and a new value.
