Delaina Doshi
Delaina is a current MFA candidate in Fiber and Material Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her practice is shaped by an interest in the textile and material cultures of her own heritage, Midwestern American, and of her family by marriage, first generation Indian American. Through assemblage and archiving, she pieces together shards and scraps from varying recognizable materials to spur memories and contemplation. For the last several years, she has been working with found and gifted porcelain–smashing it and stitching the pieces together into sculptures.
