Juan Eduardo Flores

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Art and Technology Studies

Juan is interested in the topics of movement, travel, transformation, and chaotic systems. He explores this with sound, kinetic objects, and by capturing a body going from point A to point B. He is interested in harnessing the power of computation whether digital or analog to get somewhere minimal or extreme, often trying to find the most simple execution or the furthest limits.

He was born in the border town of Del Rio, Texas and raised in San Antonio. He was the recipient of the Mortimer Hays-Brandeis Fellowship which funded his concentration on sound art in Mexico City for over a year. His start was in the Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum’s MOSAIC program, where he in making murals out of hand made mosaic tiles along with other high school students.
