Artist Statement

This work explores American iconography, propaganda, and parasocial relationships. It is always aware of its double life in the digital and physical worlds, particularly at the end of the pandemic. Though it is handmade, the visual boundaries of painting and photography are blurred to challenge contemporary assumptions around portraiture.
