Jamie Theophilos is a student, videographer and new media artist. They received their bachelors of Arts in film studies and gender studies with a concentration in queer studies. Their graduate work continues within these fields, focusing on dirty new media, experimental video and the political movements and theories of ‘transgender-ism’ and queerness. Jamie’s MFA thesis is an experimental interactive ethnography that explores the complexities of the queer narrative and attempts to play with video, sound and coding that exemplify the ways that technology reproduces the social constructs of gender and sexuality.
