Sweet Water Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Emmanuel Pratt and James Godsil. Trained as an architect, Pratt is Director of Aquaponics for Chicago State University. Using urban agriculture as a medium, Sweet Water Foundation works to improve access to STE(A)M education in public schools, build resilient communities, and transform waste into resources.
Sweet Water Foundation will exhibit a biodynamic feedback loop exploring cycles of blight in biological and social terms. Comprising a custom aquaponics system and environmental sensing systems with other similar installations at community gardens, public schools, and other sites throughout Chicago, the installation will be an integrated part of Sweet Water’s teaching and research network.
